Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me. (Matthew 25:40)
Where ever there is pain, brokenness, oppression, lack, loneliness, hunger, darkness–Jesus is there. The God who chose to make himself known through the person of Jesus Christ seeks not the powerful, rich, comfortable, secure, or sleepy.
By God’s own presence, often intangible but also undeniable, healing, light, freedom, true rest, and nourishment come. Try sitting on a bench today, try getting quiet enough to feel what’s around you and within you. Take time to notice and sense how, in the midst of busyness and despair, God is there–right next to you.
